{birthday}

4:06 on 4/6
just spent my last moment.
being 36.
oh well..
time marches on.
let the celebration begin. :)

...and just cuz i love this quote:

"when people asked how old she was,
she would say 1009365,
more or less,
because she was so glad to be alive
that she counted every day a birthday."
~story people

{all that fuzz and stuff}

..the older i get.
the more i like
all that fuzz and blur and stuff.;)
..plus it's kinda
 artsy flartsie. :)

...

'flarties'
 coined by 'nienie'
i had to laugh.
oh and..
if you haven't met nienie
 via her blog.
you simply must.
she is beautiful.
and truly amazing.
she has been through..
well..
hell and back.
so go.
..be inspired.
and realize
how blessed
you really are.

my simple story won't
win any occolades or awards,
but here 'tis.
a small town girl,
who grew up in a loving, Christian home.
very sheltered and tucked away.
snug as a bug in a rug.
a very happy childhood.
with nothing but lovely memories.
& lots of family time.
life was simple. no tv.
just lots of books.
and reading.
my mother always had a camera handy,
& i loved looking through the albums
she put together of all of our pictures.
later, after i had my own children,
i loved capturing their sweet
faces, and the cute things they did.
then, when my camera quit,
my sister loaned me her digital camera
and insisted i take with me on vacation.
she gave me a few tips,
and sent me on my way.
something about that camera
rocked my world.
everything changed and
i began to see life through a lens.
i loved the challenge of trying to get
the settings just right.
i drove me family crazy at first.
i'm afraid i still do. :)
i am inspired by sunshine,
& ironically dark, moody pictures, too.
i would love to think i do or could inspire others.
i hope i do.
i love when people tell me that my pictures
are full of emotion & feeling, and
that i've somehow touched them
in a special way.
i am self-taught,
and have learned so much,
with SO much left to learn.
i'm inspired by many.
& find inspiration everywhere.
from a sunshiney day.
to a happy smile.
 a thoughtful look.
a lovely glance.
a foggy morning.
a fun moment.

.happy new year.

ringing in the new year...
photobooth style.
hehe... :)

the new year has begun.

i can't even remember for sure what we were laughing about here...
but likely it was the funny faces we were making. :)

mom and us. :)

..and mr. adorable himself.

in my favorite hat.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Wishing you the very best in 2010.

Lots of love, joy and laughter.

xx

ta-da.

besties. :)

Wishing you a "Picture Perfect" Christmas

i took these back in october,

after talking hard into letting

my crew get pictures done. :)

i thought i was gonna pass out

from all the running back and forth

to set the camera timer.

...note to self: get a remote

before i try that again...

..oh, and eat first. :)

...

ps. my cousin just told me about an interval

timer that i could use on my camera.

can't wait to try that out. :)

thanks for the tip.

xx

{Merry Christmas}

just married.
aren't they cute?
face book has a way
of bringing back old
memories. coming into
contact with people
whom you haven't heard
from or seen in years.
i don't know...
but i've been
looking through old
pictures. i'm so glad
my mother took so many.
maybe that's why
all her daughters have
become photographers. :)
and i guess that's also the reason
she's not in very many of
the pictures.
she's the best mum anyone could
ever have. the sweetest,
most thoughtful person. ever.
she was always there for us.
i love her so much.
it's so wonderful
to know that she's always praying
for us.
such a comfort.
i have a lot of
faith in mom's prayers.
honeymoon.
i love this one.
first baby.
that would be me.

me and my childhood hero.
my daddy was the best.
so much fun.
and always doing fun
things with us.
his whole life
was centered around
his family.
love him so.

love how mama put my hair
in pigtails.
she made most of my clothes, too. :)

love this one.
i had the best childhood ever.
thanks mom and dad.
xx

{ the photoshoots}
it was a little chilly.
in between pictures,
we were jumping up and down
trying to keep warm,
laughing our heads off :)
plus, the sand was really
blowing and our legs were
getting sand-blasted.
it was great fun! :)

we got this bright idea to
get fun-colored icecream cones
to match our bright-colored
vintage suits.
i was really enjoying
my orange flavor,
but mandy didn't care
for her blueberry,
and it was dripping all over
the place.
it was hilarious!
the funny thing is,
we had already enjoyed
normal icecream cones
with normal flavors
before this.
definitely got our fill
of icecream. haha!

i wanted to climb to the
top of this lighthouse.
but we decided not to
after we saw the price.
plus, we decided we'd rather eat
some more, rather
than exercise.
haha!
kidding (well, sorta)
we ate soooo much on this trip! :)

this was such a lovely house.
but it was on a bus tour route,
we had people keep
trying to take pictures of us
while we sat here.
it was funny, because we
would try to mess up their shot
by doing something stupid. :)

ta-da...
my lovely sister.
if you keep up with this blog,
you will probably notice
that she is the one
who just adopted the
adorable, little
korean baby.

so gorgeous.
and ever so sweet.

the artsy shot. :)

a mini paradise.
beside the road.
i'm in luv.
with savannah.
