day 232

3 weeks from 15.
& getting her driving permit.
which I am looking forward to.
sorta.
i don’t like to drive.
i’d much rather be in the passenger seat.
:)

{escape to the sea}

..if you look close, and you'll see my family in this next one. they're tiny. for once. ;)

13 favorite photos.
ft. pickens.
& the old navy fort.
the beach was beautiful.
& we even had our
own private air show.
with the 'blue angels'
flying overhead.
while looking for
the biggest seashells ever.
it was amazing.
..more later.
daughter-date about to happen. :)

{Happy Easter}

because He lives..
there is hope.
for you and for me.

knowing Christ died, that's history.
believing He died for me, that's salvation.

i'll never, ever forget
that moment.
when at 6 years.
i asked Christ
into my heart and life.
at that old church alter.
i've never looked back.
and that was the
happiest day of my life.
i will never forget
that clean, happy feeling.
like a slate wiped clean.

"On a hill far away
 stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame.
& I love that old cross
 where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross.
till my trophies at last I lay down.
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
& exchange it some day for a crown.
O that old rugged cross.
 so despised by the world,
has a wondrous attraction for me;
for the dear Lamb of God
 left his glory above
to bear it to dark Calvary.
In that old rugged cross.
 stained with blood so divine.
a wondrous beauty I see.
for 'twas on that old cross
 Jesus suffered and died,
to pardon and sanctify me."

Happy Easter
xx

my simple story won't
win any occolades or awards,
but here 'tis.
a small town girl,
who grew up in a loving, Christian home.
very sheltered and tucked away.
snug as a bug in a rug.
a very happy childhood.
with nothing but lovely memories.
& lots of family time.
life was simple. no tv.
just lots of books.
and reading.
my mother always had a camera handy,
& i loved looking through the albums
she put together of all of our pictures.
later, after i had my own children,
i loved capturing their sweet
faces, and the cute things they did.
then, when my camera quit,
my sister loaned me her digital camera
and insisted i take with me on vacation.
she gave me a few tips,
and sent me on my way.
something about that camera
rocked my world.
everything changed and
i began to see life through a lens.
i loved the challenge of trying to get
the settings just right.
i drove me family crazy at first.
i'm afraid i still do. :)
i am inspired by sunshine,
& ironically dark, moody pictures, too.
i would love to think i do or could inspire others.
i hope i do.
i love when people tell me that my pictures
are full of emotion & feeling, and
that i've somehow touched them
in a special way.
i am self-taught,
and have learned so much,
with SO much left to learn.
i'm inspired by many.
& find inspiration everywhere.
from a sunshiney day.
to a happy smile.
 a thoughtful look.
a lovely glance.
a foggy morning.
a fun moment.

day 63 l springfield, mo l aerial photographer

i've always loved the view
coming down the hill from home
and into town.
it's a lovely place
to watch the passing of time,
with the trees changing
with the seasons.
lately, the view has been
 slightly altered with
the construction of
a huge, new interchange
going in. it's been
fun watching how quickly
 it is all coming together.
...

13 smiles today
a lovely day of sunshine
& spring-ey weather
a visit with a friend
tyler's hugs
& i love you's
a random back massage
a texted apology
homeade chicken and dumplings
linessa's bear hugs
& choosing ag as an elective
tyler complimenting what i was wearing {western}
knowing God is bigger than any problem
& that there is light at the end of the tunnel

...
life is sometimes fun,
sometimes not.
i am not always happy.
my kids are sometimes grouchy or difficult.
but when I look back over my day.
i begin to realize that
the seemingly insignificant things
are the most meaningful & beautiful of all.

sometimes..
it's the the smallish things
that take up the most room
in our hearts.
